A place of abundant Moroela trees, welcome to Iganu Game Ranch,
situated in the heartland of the Limpopo Province.
Less than 20 kilometers from Marken, a charming one-horse town, just
three-and-a-half hours from Johannesburg International Airport and an
hour away from Polokwane by road, Iganu sits in an oasis of savannah
grasslands, lush vegetation, unique African trees, under starry African
nights. What’s more, Iganu is in a malaria-free area, and lies just a
few kilometers below the Tropic of Capricorn.
Iganu is a well-stocked game ranch, offering for
rifle and bow hunters, over 15 species of game animals to choose from.
Allow one of our professional hunter guides to navigate you through the
bush.
For nature lovers and photographers many other species also abound. The
ranch is situated adjacent to the reputed 150,000 hectare Waterberg
biosphere in the Limpopo province. This area is widely regarded as one
of South Africa’s greatest assets.

The ranch offers catered or self-catered options and the choice to sleep
in professionally attired lodge tents in the middle of Knobthorn trees
and bush, or traditional South African thatched rondavel or chalet-type
accommodation, tastefully decorated with an African flavor. The central
lodge offers a relaxing environment with lounge, bar and restaurant, and
an outside boma fire for those clear, wintry nights.
During non-hunting periods, for leisure travelers, quad bike around our
farm, walk freely, enjoy game drives or relax by the pool and take in
the sights and sounds of the African bush. Enjoy South African home
cooking, served at our traditional ‘’Boma’’ or barbecue place.
Iganu’s surroundings are tranquil. The silence is wonderful. On the
farm, enjoy the peace of watching animals graze. At dawn and dusk,
observe their gathering at the watering holes, or catch a sneak preview
from our watch tower while sipping a sundowner. The strutting Secretary
bird or majestic Eagle in flight is a special experience, as is watching
a herd of wildebeest traverse the savannah.
For photographers and birdwatchers alike, the abundance of birdlife, and
beautiful hues of the afternoon sun, make Iganu a place of endless
opportunity to enjoy and photograph the bush and its fauna.
If a bit of exercise is what you fancy then golf, fishing, various curio
shops and Big 5 experiences are available in the surrounding areas, and
just a short drive away on one of our vehicles.
Desert landscapes in the West, Sub-tropical forests in the east, and
less than an hour’s drive to Botswana – land of the famed Okavango,
Caprivi strip and the Chobe River delta – Iganu is situated in an ideal
location to experience other parts of South Africa.
For example, at Iganu we also offer packages to the world-renowned
Kruger National Park, and together with our partner,
Zulani, a quaint
and family-run guest lodge in St. Lucia on the KwaZulu Natal North
coast, you can enjoy Marlin fishing, Deep Sea fishing, unsurpassed Whale
watching or the Big 5 experience in the tropical east.
KwaZulu Natal is on the eastern seaboard of South Africa. Boasting warm
clear seas, tropical climate and year-round sunshine, the province is
home to the Drakensberg Mountains, a World Heritage site, the Umfolozi
Big 5 Game Reserve, just 55 kilometers away from
Zulani. The St Lucia Estuary, with abundant Hippos and Crocodiles
and the magnificent Lake Sibaya are on your doorstep.
Come to Iganu and allow us to entertain you with a variety of game
hunting, game fishing and unique tourist experiences. City slickers,
escape the stresses of the city and relax and unwind in the African
bush.
